Eight in running for Nafa honours

WITH the Nafa Premier League season heading for the halfway mark, a mere six points separate the top eight teams.

Blackpool wasted a golden opportunity of regaining their position at the top on Saturday when they allowed Glenville to come back from 0-2 down to draw 2-2.

Johnneton Pokbas gave Blackpool a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, a well-taken goal by Nathan Jones increased the lead.

However, goals in rapid succession by Patrick Goliath and John Barnes saw Glenville draw level.

Glenville could have burgled an unlikely win, but Blackpool goalkeeper Warren Manual was up to the task in saving a controversial penalty.

Bloom Callies retain pole position on goal difference despite going down 1-0 to Westlake.

In a high-scoring match, Saints beat Shamrocks 8-3. The tailenders were strengthened by the return of several players from the Safa-NMB SAB league.

Early log leaders Hotspurs finally picked up a point when they drew 1-1 with Ebenezer. After an excellent start Spurs were on the receiving end in the last five matches.

Fairdene edged out Stardrift 1-0 to remain in second spot.
