No changes at the top of Pefa log

THE positions at the top of the Pefa Premier League table remained unchanged as all the frontrunners won their matches at the weekend.

On Friday evening Vodacom NMMU Madibaz, who head the table on goal difference, beat NMB Municipality 3-0.

Despite dominating the match, the students only led 1-0 at half-time courtesy of a Kevin Kivido strike.

In the second half Cloudius Sagandira and Zukisani Mtendeni added a goal each.

Meanwhile, Hearts maintained their unbeaten record with a solid 2-1 win over Warriors at their stronghold, The Valley (Lawson Brown High School) .

The home team took an early lead when Jason van Wyk scored from 25m out.

Van Wyk was in action again when he set up Robert Yuill's seventh goal of the season to make it 2-0 at the break.

Late in the second half Shane de Boer pulled one goal back for Warriors when he converted a penalty.

Warriors stepped up a gear for the equaliser but the Hearts defence held out.

On Saturday Highbury defeated PE Defence 2-0 in Bridgemead.

At Victoria Park, Motherwell Academy deservedly beat PE Homerovers 3-2 .

In a close contest at the Westbourne Oval, Forresters battled to overcome defending champions Central Acemates 1-0.

Ayanda Mthethwa managed to secure the winner late in the second half.

In the only match on Sunday, Callies continued their goal-scoring spree, beating Kwadwesi All Stars 5-3 at Londt Park.

Callies have now scored a massive 24 goals in their last four matches.

For Callies, Sheniel Benn scored a hat trick with Razaan Safedien and Luvuyo Bika adding one each.

Khanyiso Bacela, Siyakeliswa Funde and Achuma Klaas scored for Kwadwesi.

In the Pefa Women's League, Highbury cruised to a 7-0 victory over St George's while Hearts demolished PE City 10-0. - Mogan Segadavan
