Ikamva title winners

IKAMVA Movers clinched the Mofa Motherwell Build-It Premier League title with two matches to spare on Saturday with an impressive 3-1 win over defending champions Shining Stars.

The match was a replay of the clash earlier in the season which was stopped due to bad light with Movers leading 3-0.

Movers took an early lead when the Yako brothers, Sinthembele and Mbongeni, combined for the former to score. Their joy was short-lived as some quick passing saw Shining draw level within a minute. Peter Sinethemba was the scorer.

In the second half, Movers dominated the match and it was not long before Yako "Keita" Mbongeni outpaced the Shining defence to make it 2-1. Manengele Ayanda added the third.

With the championship trophy heading for their cabinet, Movers could afford to take it easy on Sunday and drew 0-0 with Tomorrow Stars.

Young Madrid retained second spot when they beat Young Tigers 1-0 courtesy of a strike by Sibusiso Madonci in the first half.

Valencia probably blew their chances of finishing as runners-up when they lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace. Mayo Khanyisa scored both goals in the first half.

To complete a dismal weekend for Shining they were thumped 4-0 by Real Aces with Gqanto Thulani scoring a hat-trick and Mzukisi Hans adding the fourth.

Totternham Spurs ended their relegation worries by winning both their matches. On Saturday, they beat relegation-threatened Lion Stars by 3-1, and on Sunday edged home 1-0 against Real Strikers

Meanwhile, Manchester City eased their relegation worries with a 4-3 win over Subs which puts them a point ahead of Lion (who lost to Spurs) and Young Ideas who had a bye.
