Chiefs pull off major win over close rivals Little Birds

MAJOR Chiefs extended their lead at the top of the Zwifa Premier League with an easy 3-1 win over close challengers Little Birds on Sunday.

In a weekend of high scores Shinning Stars displaced Birds in second place when they beat struggling Young Brothers 6-3.

It was a bad weekend for Young Stars who conceded 11 goals in their double-header. They lost 5-1 to Morning Stars and 6-1 to Real Dodgers.

In the First Division, Camper United beat Shinning Stars B 2-0 to retain top spot.

Umnyano Stars thrashed Everton Aces 4-1 on Saturday but lost 2-0 to Hungry Lions the following day. Aces won their second match beating Jumbo Chiefs 2-0.

HOSTS Morning Stars beat Highbury 4-3 on penalties in the final of the Morning Stars Easter Tournament on Tuesday evening.

The score at the end of regulation time was 1-1.

In the Losers' Section final Kuyasa United beat City Lads 3-1.

YOUNG Aces and Young Teenagers will clash in the finals of the PE East Amarok KO Cup competition sponsored by the VW Community Trust after they won their semifinal matches at the Kwadwesi fields on Sunday.

Aces beat Young Idols 1-0 while Teenagers beat Peace Lovers 2-1. In the quarterfinals on Saturday Idols beat Black Arrows 5-4 on penalties. - Mogan Segadavan
