Blackpool top log afer 2-1 victory

BLACKPOOL surged to the top of the Nafa Premier League on Saturday as Hotspurs lost their third consecutive match.

Three weeks ago the Pool were fifth with traditional rivals Hotspurs leading the pack with an unbeaten run. After losing in the first round of the Mala Moodaley KO Cup competition the Spurs have failed to pick up a point in the league.

On Saturday Denver Kroucamp set up both Blackpool's goals in their 2-1 win over Ebenezer. Jason Potgieter put Blackpool ahead when he scored from a Kroupkamp cross. But the lead was short-lived as Ebenezer drew level within two minutes.

Midway into the second half Kroukamp set up the winning goal for Naeem Abrahams.

Blackpool now top the log on goal difference after Hotspurs went down 2-1 to newly promoted Fairdene.

Defending champions Glenville slipped from second to third following their 2-1 loss to Bloom Callies.

Booysens Pride, who beat Stardrift 1-0, leapfrogged from 11th to joint sixth.

At the bottom end of the log Fairview Rovers scored their first win of the season in style, hammering fellow strugglers Chatty United 4-0. Rovers have drawn six of their 11 matches.

Tailenders Saints drew 0-0 with Wolves – their fourth draw of the season.
