Bay bowlers doing well at nationals

THE only Bay representatives at the men's nationals, Geoff Gowar and Jorge Rodrigues, have both progressed well and today will be contesting the last eight of the pairs, Gowar the last 16 of the senior singles and Rodrigues the last 32 of the open singles.

Jenny Giles has also enjoyed a good week at the women's nationals and along with her partner, Annette Herselman, is through to the last eight in the pairs. In an unfortunate draw for the Bay women, Giles also comes up against Diane Ahrens in the last eight of the open singles.

Sandy Smart, Liesl Hayward and Sandra Boardman all won their sections in the open singles but were eliminated in the round of 32.
