Mbabala Young Stars take Nodefa title

MBABALA Young Stars were crowned the Nodefa VW Community Trust Premier League champions at the Jabavu Soccer Stadium last weekend.

Stars went into their final match on Sunday against Eleven Stars having already clinched the title. They won 2-1 to end an excellent season which saw them score 80 goals.

Runners-up Kabah United Brothers thrashed tailenders Young Pirates 7-0. Pirates and City Style, who lost 3-2 to City Friends on Friday evening, will be relegated to the first division when the new season kicks off in August.

Golden Chiefs blew their chances of finishing second when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Young Callies.

Chiefs and Callies finished third and fourth.
