Mofa teams scramble for points

THERE was more action at the bottom of the log of the Mofa Motherwell Build-it Premier League over the weekend as teams battled to get away from the relegation zone.

Tailenders Young Ideas have only themselves to blame for not coming away with a share of the points in their match against Tottenham Spurs.

Thonde Mandla gave Spurs the lead in the dying minutes of the first half as the Ideas' defence was caught napping. Noboni Thozamile wrapped up the entertaining second half to give Spurs a well-deserved 2-0 win.

Lion Stars, who are third from the bottom, overcame Liverpool to ease their relegation worries with a 3-2 win in an action-packed game. A determined Stars took an early lead when Deyi Sibusiso scored with an easy tap-in. Their joy was short-lived as Kiswa Siyanda equalised within a minute.

Stars took the lead for the second time when Bonani Joseph scored directly from a free kick. Midway in the half Liverpool were back level when Siyabonga Buru scored.

In the second half both teams were over- cautious until Sibusiso broke the deadlock. Liverpool then stepped up a gear but failed to get the equaliser.
