Dodgers’ win sees them take league title

DODGERS clinched the Nebfa Sedgars Premier League title by a massive nine points from Red City when they beat City Defenders 3-1 at the Chevrolet Stadium on Saturday.

Red secured second place with a 2-1 win over Black Stars.

It was a disappointing end for Red who had hoped to contest the play-offs to return to the Safa-NMB SAB League after being relegated two seasons ago.

Winter Rose finished third after thrashing CCX Callies 4-1.

Roaring Tigers slipped from second to fifth after losing 2-1 to early leaders PE Sundowns.

Stinging Bees thumped Boast Pirates 4-1 to finish fourth.

SHINNING Stars’ crackling start to the season ground to a halt at the Gal City field on Saturday when they were thrashed 4-1 by Kuyasa United who went into the weekend trailing the log leaders by eight points.

Little Birds who were second, six points behind Stars, beat Real Dodgers 3-1.

The match between Swartkops United and Zwide Pirates, who are separated by one point, was keenly contested and ended in a 1-1 draw.
