Much at stake as Lion City defend their Easter title
THERE will be rich pickings for teams competing in the Mofa Big Daddy's, Heineken, Motherwell Build-it Easter Tournament which starts at the NU2 Stadium in Motherwell this evening.
The tournament carries the biggest cash prize on offer in the metro with the winners pocketing R15000 and the runners-up R13000.
The two losing semifinalists will each receive R5000 and the losing quarterfinalists R1000 each.
The tournament has attracted teams from as far afield as Cape Town.
There will also be special awards including player of the tournament, top goal scorer and best goalkeeper.
Lion City, one of the three teams locked in the battle for the Safa-NMB SAB League title, are the defending champions.
After the opening matches at the NU2 Stadium this evening the round robin stage will be played at both the NU2 and NU9 Stadiums.
The official opening will take place at 7.30pm this evening.
The finals will be played at the NU2 Stadium on Monday.
