St George's Prep dominate gala

THE annual Independent Schools' Gala in Grahamstown last week proved to be a day of records, with St George's Prep swimmers excelling at the meet.
Involving teams from Kingswood, St George's, Woodridge, St Andrew's and DSG, the gala was hosted by Kingswood with St George's setting eight new relay records and two individual records. Jessica Beukes broke the under-14 50m backstroke and freestyle records, while Jamie Bulbring broke the U11 50m breaststroke record.
St George's won 34 of the 54 events on the day.
A third individual record came from Luke Kelly, of Kingswood, who broke the U10 boys 25m breaststroke record.
The St Andrew's U14 boys team broke the freestyle relay record.
