Old Grey take six-a-side title from Grey High

HOSTS Old Grey won a well organised and thoroughly enjoyable six-a-side cricket tournament at Freeplay Park yesterday.

Their opening batsmen Nick Emmett and Sean Adair were their strength and were prolific throughout the day.

The hosts played defending champions Grey High in the final. The schoolboys made 58/4 with Liam Lindsay making 31.

Emmett and Adair then clobbered 60/0 in 3.1 overs to seal an emphatic victory.

NMMU beat Heatherbank in the plate final with Lloyd Brown in great form.

In the Golden Oldies section, PECC beat Old Grey by six runs.

Penguins bowler Philip Krige took a hattrick against PECC in theGolden Oldies event. – Jimmy Hattle
