Warriors wounded by Lions

CHEVROLET Warriors batsman Ryan Bailey scored a workman-like century and Hardus Viljoen took six wickets as the bizhub Highveld Lions edged the honours on the opening day of the Sunfoil Series match at Axxess St George's yesterday.

Bailey, with the help of Michael Price who scored a fine 97, registered his eighth first-class ton as the Warriors were dismissed for 284 late yesterday afternoon.

Lions seamers Viljoen and Cliffie Deacon were superb, nagging away at the Warriors' batting order. Viljoen finished up with six for 98 and Deacon with four for 46.

Bailey was left stranded unbeaten on 102 off 192 balls with 13 fours and two sixes. -
