Young Stars should increase league lead tomorrow

LOG-LEADERS Mbabala Young Stars, who have an eight-point lead in the Nodefa VW Community Trust Premier League, will favour their chances of picking up maximum points when they play New City Stars in the late match at the Jabavu Stadium tomorrow evening.

New City trail Mbabala by 17 points as the teams head towards the final third of the league programme. Golden Chiefs will not find it easy to make up lost ground when they play Eleven Stars in the early match.

Chiefs were surprisingly beaten by City Friends last week.

With a match in hand, Angels are just a point behind Chiefs.

Kabah United Brothers should retain second place when they play struggling Black Aces in the last fixture on Saturday. Third-placed Really Rangers play tailenders Young Pirates in the midday fixture.


Friday: Golden Chiefs v Eleven Angels, New City Stars v Mbabala Young Stars.

Saturday: Stokes United v Manchester Babes, Jamaican Stars v City Style, Khayelitsha Stars v Young Callies, Young Pirates v Really Rangers, Kabah United Brothers v Black Aces.

Sunday: Manchester United v City Friends.


THE battle for supremacy in the Nebfa Sedgars Premier League should continue over the weekend, with just seven points separating the top six teams.

With a match in hand, Dodgers head the log on goal difference. They will favour their chances of remaining on top after their match against CCX Callies in the first game of the day at the Dodgers field on Saturday.

Red City, who are tied with Dodgers, should also have an easy match when they come up against City Defenders in the final match of the day.


PE Suns, who are a point behind the frontrunners, play struggling Eastern Jumpers at the Chevrolet Stadium on Sunday.

The match of the weekend could be the clash between City Lads and defending champions Real White City who are sixth and seventh on the log.
