THE finals of the EP mixed pairs were played at the weekend and after an excellent contest, the gold went to Hennie Slabbert and Dalene Muller (The Woods), who beat Paul Spriggs and Sandy Smart (Mill Park) 24-19.

The bronze medal was won by Christo Rens and Helene Gardiner, who beat Jorge Rodrigues and Desi Rosenblatt 23-21.

THERE is Wednesday morning mixed bowls at Park Drive, tabs in 9am. Other playing sessions are: Tuesday 2pm, Saturday 2pm, Sunday 9.15am, and public holidays 9am.

On Friday, there is pitch and play (cut-throat, 5pm-6.30), followed by a bring and braai; R5 to cover braai wood. Inquiries: Brian Stephenson.

On St Patrick’s Day (March 16), there will be fun bowls from 12.30pm; R60 a player; wear green. Inquiries: Brian Stephenson.

The Saturday morning pairs will start on March 22.

WESTVIEW have tabs in on Wednesday mornings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. There is cut-throat bowls on Fridays (9.15am).

Starting tomorrow, there will be a tabs-in drawn trips competition (3.30pm). There will be monthly prizes as well as an end of tournament prize.

THE final session of the twilight bowls at Mill Park takes place tomorrow (5pm) followed by the prize-giving.

On Saturday, there is tabs in at 1.30pm.
