Despatch cricket boys in fine form

DESPATCH registered a fine win when they defeated St Andrew's thirds by 11 runs in a schools cricket match at the weekend.
Sent in to bat, Despatch were quickly in trouble at 42/5, but Sheldon Meiring (23) held the innings together and support came from Keanu Baartman (23 not out) and Johan Black (37) as they showed character to take the score to 152.
Meiring also led the way with the ball, taking 6/44 in 10 overs as St Andrew's slumped to 141 all out in 35 overs. Leanu du Toit (2/34) and Vernade Wellman (2/10) lent good support.
