NMMU and Londt Park locked in two-horse race for league title

CHAMPIONS NMMU and Londt Park remain locked in a tight contest in the men's Super squash league, with just a point separating them after two rounds.

Although it is early days, it does seem as if these two sides are the chief contenders for the title and the showdown between them on March 6 could decide the destiny of the title.

On Tuesday, Londt Park swept past Rhodes 19-2, only Thami Mngcete picking up points for the Rhodians. Mngcete has a contract working in Grahamstown and has linked up with the varsity team. NMMU were only slightly less ruthless, defeating Saders 19-4, while Old Grey were too strong for Westview, romping home 19-3.

In the opening round of the women's Super league, Londt Park and Crusaders were quickly to the fore, each getting full points against Londt Park B and Westview respectively.

Saders were pleased to have Anlen Murray back after a layoff since August for a knee operation.

NMMU lost two matches, but won an interesting tussle with Rhodes 14-9. This competition, however, should boil down to the final encounter between Saders and Londt Park A on March 18. Results:
