Students set to continue unbeaten streak

MECER NMMU1 will look to continue the momentum when they contest a double-header in NMB Premier League club cricket action this weekend.

The defending champions should have little trouble in dispensing with Gelvandale tomorrow and Tavcor Greensbushes on Sunday but they will want to guard against complacency. The students whipped SA Home Loans Union by eight wickets at the weekend. That victory was a turning point in the season because it saw the defending champions remain unbeaten while it handed Union their first loss.

Maritime Motors Old Grey look likely to be in a race with Union for second position on the log behind NMMU1 come the end of the season.

Old Grey are not in action this weekend but have slipped ahead of Union by one point. However, Union have a game in hand, and will play that match when they travel to face NMMU2 at the campus tomorrow.

This weekend's fixtures are (home teams first, 10am start):
