Adventure swimmer takes on last of province's rivers

PORT Elizabeth adventure swimmer Kyle Main will complete his swims in all the Eastern Cape's major rivers when he tackles the Kariega in Kenton on Sunday.
With pioneering swims of the Kowie River (24km), Bushmans River (35km), Sundays River (25km), Swartkops River (16.5km) and Gamtoos River (22km) already under his speedo, only the Kariega eludes him.
Main expects to do a 24km swim in about four to five hours, down to the mouth. "The Kariega will be my last river swim as it completes the full set of major swimmable rivers in the region," Main said.
His next goal is the 20km Rottnest channel in Australia.
