Battle on to take early lead in Zwifa league

GOLDEN Aces and Shining Stars will continue their battle to establish an early lead in the Zwifa Premier League this weekend.

Aces play Little Birds tomorrow while Stars take on Soweto Angels on Sunday. The early pace-setters clashed a fortnight ago with Stars winning 6-4 in a thrilling encounter.

Defending champions Swartkops United, who have made a quiet start to the season, play Morning Stars tomorrow.

Tomorrow: Golden Aces v Little Birds, Morning Stars v Swartkops United, Manchester City v Zwide Celtics.

Sunday: Shining Stars v Soweto Angels, Kuyasa United v Zwide Pirates.

THE three-horse race in the Zafa Premier League should continue tomorrow. Log-leaders Young Romans play Seven United at the Wolfson B field. Although they are eighth on the log, United trail Romans by a massive 17 points.

Nubs, who are tied with Eleven Angels in second place, face a tricky match against Dynamos, who are tied with United Comrades in fourth place. Angels should have an easy match against Juventus.

In the first division, log-leaders Eleven Masters play Makawula on Sunday. Major Stars, who are locked in a three-way battle for second place, play Stone Breakers.
