Fordyce at Hobie Beach Parkrun

Mogan Segadavan
COMRADES legend Bruce Fordyce will be in Port Elizabeth tomorrow for the Hobie Beach Parkrun, which he launched in August last year.
The nine-times Comrades winner is the national director of the event.
The 5km Parkrun is a worldwide event run at 8am every Saturday. Entry is free but participants are required to register on www.parkrun.co.za/register
Participants are issued with an identification barcode which they must produce at each event.
Results in each event are processed and uploaded online after the run. Each registered runner has an individual page cataloguing the details of each event in which they have participated.
Participants are reminded that due to The Herald Cycle Junior Race this week's run will have an alternate route.
The run will still start at Hobie Beach but participants will run towards Kings Beach and back. Since the inaugural run there have been more than 2700 registrations, with an average of 200 taking part each week.
The total distance covered by participants is 24930km.
