Uitenhage could be challenge for Union

A SHORTENED NMB Premier League programme will see only five matches taking place tomorrow.

Pace-setters SA Home Loans Union travel to face Buco Uitenhage in what could be a tricky encounter for the visitors.

Uitenhage, in sixth position on the log, have the capacity to upset the best on their day and Union will need to have their wits about them.

With Michael Price doing duty for the EP Provincial side against South Western Districts this weekend, Union will rely on the experience of Arno Jacobs, Riaan Venter and captain Chris Arnold up the order.

Brydon Carse displayed fine form with the ball in his debut match for Union at the weekend and will hope for a repeat performance.

Defending champions Mecer NMMU1 are not in action this weekend but there are some matches which should catch the eye.

Heatherbank will aim to bounce back from defeat against Union last weekend with a solid showing at home to Maritime Motors Old Grey, while Gelvandale face a stern test against PECC.

TOMORROW'S fixtures are (home teams first, 10am start):

Gelvandale v PECC, Buco Uitenhage v SA Home Loans Union, Heatherbank v Maritime Motors Old Grey, Pirates v Motherwell, United Brothers v Welcome

THE latest standings, according to the logkeeper, are (10 matches, unless stated):
