St Francis set for champs

THE province's leading golfers will contest the EP Amateur Golf Championship at St Francis Links over the next two weekends. The tournament starts with 36 holes of strokeplay qualifying tomorrow, with 36 holes of matchplay rounds scheduled for Sunday. The matchplay will be concluded next weekend. Sieg Human won both the strokeplay and matchplay titles last year but will not compete this year. Meanwhile, the EPGU will start a ball collection initiative where they will encourage their players to donate one ball for use by golf development players during their tournaments.
