Real City beat J-Bay United at the death

REAL City improved their log position when they beat neighbours Jeffreys Bay United 3-2 in a Safa Eastern Cape Second Division match at the NU2 Stadium.

Motherwell side City scored first on Saturday when Vuyani Velem opened the scoring in the first stanza. City went into the break leading 1-0.

They were awarded a penalty when a player was fouled inside the box and Siphelele Jonas made no mistake to score the second goal for the Motherwell side.

Jeffreys Bay scored both their goals in the second stanza but City proved to be the best team of the day when they scored their last goal in the last minute.

City were at the bottom of the log and the maximum points they collected will improve their standing on the league table.

Meanwhile, another Port Elizabeth outfit campaigning in the Safa Second Division League, Morning Stars, were defeated 4-2 by Champion at the New Rest Stadium in Lusikisiki over the weekend.

Kwazakhele-based side Stars scored the opening goal but the home side equalised before the half-time break.

Stars were leading 2-1 in the second half but Champion scored three goals to win the match.

Second on the log Highbury drew 1-1 with Angavu Stars at the Gelvandale Stadium on Saturday in a dull Safa Eastern Cape Second Division match.
