Man U stay on top of Nodefa log

MANCHESTER United thrashed Black Aces 5-2 to maintain their grip on the Nodefa VW Community Trust Premier League log on Saturday.

United have a three-point lead over City Friends, who beat Manchester Babes 2-0.

Struggling Temptation, who suffered a close 1-0 defeat at the hands of the log-leaders last week, proved that the previous performance was no flash in the pan when they beat New City Stars 2-0 to record only their second win of the season.

Stars were seven places above Temptation, who are just a place away from the bottom of the log.

Khayelitsha Stars also caused an upset when they beat the more fancied Golden Chiefs 1-0.

Last week Chiefs ended third-placed Jamaican Stars' unbeaten record.

Defending champions Imbabala Stars recorded their third successive draw when they drew 2-2 with Young Callies.

As a result of the draw Callies drop from fourth to fifth. They are replaced by Stokes United, who beat Really Rangers 1-0.
