Coltman to stand against Watson in EP Rugby poll

EBEN Coltman, president of Windvogel United Rugby Club, has been nominated by the EP Rugby Transformation Movement to stand against Cheeky Watson when EP Rugby holds its annual meeting on November 29.

The group have also named candidates for five other positions on the executive and are planning to topple president Watson.

The transformation group said: "After a long and tedious process ultimately we decided to come together as club rugby administrators and coaches within EP Rugby to work towards total transformation as we are sick and tired of being pitted against each other so as to divide and rule us.

"This movement is standing for change and unity in our communities and the mainstreaming of black talent in EP rugby, especially playing and coaching departments."

The other nominations are: deputy president: Bantwini Matika (Young Collegians, Bay), vice-president Eldridge "Chico" Februarie (Kouga), finance and marketing chairwoman: Gillian le Grange (Jeffreys Bay), coaching and development chairman: Maasdorp Cannon (Brumbies), facilities chairman: Marius Gysman (Jeffreys Bay). - George Byron
