NAHSR's top honours go to Bertram High
BERTRAM High walked away with the main honours when Northern Areas High Schools Rugby (NAHSR) held their annual awards function at the NMMU Missionvale campus at the weekend.
After winning the March NAHSR Festival, Bertram also took U19 league honours.
The were rewarded for their efforts by being included in the finals of Die Burger schools competition, playing in the small schools section where they lost to Cape Town's Excelsior 39-3 in the final.
Nevertheless, under coaches Ashwell Stride and John Hendon, Bertram played an exciting brand of rugby, always willing to run the ball.
They defeated Booysen Park 29-14 in the Festival final and also contested the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Nite Series final where they came back from 31-15, only to lose 37-31 to Ndzondelelo.
