Watch for progress after break, says Papic

CHIPPA United coach Kosta Papic says there is room for improvement in his team's performance following their 1-1 draw against Ajax Cape Town in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday night.

The Serbian-born coach said he was happy with the result but that his team could have done better.

"We are making progress but we have to collect points and be in a safer place on the log table."

Papic said there was no magic wand to wave to make things right in the PSL, but his side would be striving for a win in their next fixture, away to Moroka Swallows on September 14.

"The players need time. We've got a 14-day break during which we will prepare ourselves and you will see a difference in our up-coming match.

"I'm enjoying the football and I try my best to help my players enjoy the game too," he said.

The Port Elizabeth outfit scored the first goal against Ajax but the unbeaten Capetonians equalised in the dying minutes.

Papic said the problem for United in the game was that they had failed to defend their goal.

"Ajax played a good game but we also missed a lot of scoring chances. We want to make this thing happen and get it right in our next game."

Papic said he was pleased to have received his work permit after he was forced to watch his team play their first four games from the stand.
