Thrills aplenty on cards in Nodefa games

THE stage is set for several thrilling clashes in the final round-robin matches in the Nodefa Regional Club Championships in KwaNobhule this weekend.

The tournament carries a winner's purse of R12000. The runners-up will pocket R6000 while the losing semifinalists will get R1000 each. All the teams reaching the quarterfinal stage will receive branded kit.

The top two teams in each of the eight groups will advance to the knockout stage.

In Group D all four teams are tied on four points and are in line to advance to the knockout stage on Sunday.

JB Milan, who top the log on goal difference, play Morning Stars at the Jabavu Rugby Stadium this evening.

Despatch Pioneers play Jamaican Stars at the Jabavu Soccer Stadium.

None of the teams can afford a draw.

While the losing teams will be out of the competition, the winners must score as many goals as possible to top the log.

After winning both of their matches, Fairview Rovers have booked their place in the next round. They play City Friends in their final group fixture.

Friends are tied with Island City in second place. If they lose they will be out of the competition as City should beat Young Callies in their final fixture.

In Group B the winner of the match between Manchester United and Junior Spurs, who are tied with four points, will decide the group winner.

Golden Chiefs will start as favourites in Group E as they will play All Stars – who lost both of their matches – in their final match.

The Stokes United-Showvillage United clash will decide who will top Group G. - Mogan Segadavan
