THE Eastern Cape Table Tennis senior team face a challenging week when they compete in the South African interprovincial in Bloemfontein from Monday to Friday.

Nelson Mandela Bay players Dipal Bhana, Michael de Kock, Kurt Adams and Pranev Naidu have all been included in the five-man team.

The most senior of the players, De Kock brings vast amounts of experience, having represented the province 11 times. His strengths are his devastating power loop and tricky serves.

Bhana, with a good defence technique, has been the NMBTTU Championship winner for the past two years and is hoping for a medal.

He will rely on team player De Kock for his experience.

Representing the province for the first time at senior level, Adams and Naidu have much to prove, with youth on their side.

Both have excellent forehand top spins.

The team, which leaves for Bloemfontein tomorrow, brings a variety of different styles to the table, but the competition will be tough.

Western Cape should again be the team to beat.
