Pulses racing in Pefa Premier League as Hearts close in on Madibaz

HEARTS should draw level with Vodacom NMMU Madibaz at the top of the Pefa Premier League this evening when they host PE Defence at their stronghold, The Valley.

With a match in hand, Hearts trail the students by three points.

However, they cannot afford to take Defence too lightly, especially after their gutsy performance against Callies last week. The army boys, who held the log-leaders to a draw earlier in the season, deserved at least a point against the high-riding Londt Park outfit. Only a penalty late in the match saw them lose 2-1.

Callies, who are third, are at home to the unpredictable Highbury, who are sixth, just three points adrift.

After a goal-scoring spree that saw them average four per match, Callies seem to have come unstuck against Defence.

Tomorrow, Madibaz will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of the log when they play Central Acemates at the Westbourne Oval.

The defending champions are at the bottom end of the league table with just one win in nine starts.

Forresters should keep in touch with the frontrunners when they take on Kwadwesi All Stars at the EC Command field. Forresters are fourth, five points behind the log-leaders.

Motherwell Academy will be hoping for only their second win of the season when they play NMMB Municipality at Victoria Park.

In the only match on Sunday, Warriors host bottom-dwellers PE Homerovers at the Diaz Club.
