Safa-NMB regional ties ahead

EARLY pacesetters NMMU Madibaz could meet their match tomorrow when they play Tomorrow Stars in a Safa-NMB Regional League match at their South Campus.

Stars are joint fourth, four points behind the log leaders, who thrashed PE College 7-0 in their last match.

The match of the weekend should be that between African Chiefs and Bodene- Shatterprufe, who are second and fourth respectively, at the Thembani fields. Chiefs are three points ahead of Bodene.

With five defeats in five matches, Black Vultures should be easy prey for Sophokama, who beat Chiefs 3-0 last week.

Golden Stars will favour their chances of picking up maximum points against Highbury in Bridgemead.

THE Premier League champions from each of the 12 local football associations affiliated to Safa-NMB will battle it out far a place in the Safa-NMB SAB League when the new season starts in August.

The draw for the play-offs at the KwaNobhule rugby and soccer stadiums next Saturday and Sunday will be at the Nelson Mandela Stadium on Tuesday.

The 12 teams will be placed in four groups of three, and will play a round-robin format, with each group winner advancing to the knock-out stage.
