Clash could see Nafa log leaders toppled

HOTSPURS could be toppled from their position at the top of the Nafa premier league when they play Fairdene at Finnis 2 tomorrow.

After losing to tailenders Fairview Rovers in Nafa's premier knockout competition, the Mala Moodaley KO Cup, a fortnight ago, the log leaders were thumped 4-1 by Stardrift in their last match. The match of the weekend should be the clash between rapidly improving Blackpool and Ebenezer on Finnis 3.

After a slow start to the season, the Pool are third, just three points behind the log leaders. Ebenezer are sixth.

Champions Glenville face a difficult match against Bloom Callies at the Errol Heynes field. Callies are fourth, four points behind Glenville who are second.

Buoyed by their resounding win over Hotspurs last week, Stardift will favour their chances of picking up maximum points when they play Booysens Pride in Marock Road. Pride are two points ahead of Stardrift at the lower end of the league table.

Saints and Fairview Rovers will be looking forward to improved performances. They are separated by goal difference at the bottom of the log.

Rovers play Chatty United, who are just a point above them, on Finnis 1, while Saints take on Wolves on Gelvan 1.

Fixtures: Blackpool v Ebenezer (Finnis 3), Fairview Rovers v Chatty (Finnis 1), Glenville v Bloom Callies (Errol Heynes), Park United v Helenvale (Arcadia), Fairdene v Hotspurs (Finnis 2), Wolves v Saints (Gelvan 1), Shamrocks v Westlake (Malabar 1), Stardrift v Booysens Pride (Marock Road). - Mogan Segadavan
