City Lads thrash hapless Express

NEW Brighton-based women's football side City Lads continued to dominate the Eastern Cape's Sasol League Stream A, beating neighbours Continental Express 4-1 at the Dynamos sport ground on Saturday. Andisiwe Ndesi scored the opening goal of the match and Sibongile Kqabo doubled the score before the half-time break. Siphosethu Majola showed Lads meant business when she netted the third goal in the second half, giving the Express outfit no chance of getting back into the game. Ndesi extended the lead, when she scored her second goal, to seal the match for Lads. Express scored a consolation goal towards the end of the second stanza and they are still rooted at the bottom of the log. Meanwhile, league rookies Mustangs Ladies were thrashed 6-0 by East London side Birmingham City in a provincial Sasol Women's League Stream A match at the Old Grey ground on Saturday. Ladies were promoted to the Sasol Women's League after winning the SAB league title. But Ladies still need more experience to survive in the province's highest women's league as they have lost all their matches played so far. - Mthetho Ndoni
