Young Stars shine bright to win league

MBABALA Young Stars will be officially crowned the Nodefa VW Community Chest Premier League champions on Sunday as the season officially draws to a close.

Stars won the championship with three matches to spare and will complete their season with a double-header this weekend.

They play Eleven Stars at the Jabavu Soccer Stadium on Saturday and Young Callies on Sunday.

The trophy presentation will take place immediately after the match.

Kabah United Brothers, who have secured second place, play tailenders Young Pirates on Saturday and City Friends on Sunday.

Any one of five teams are in line for the third spot. Manchester United, who have the best chance, play struggling Black Aces on Saturday and City Style on Sunday.

Of the four teams in action tomorrow evening Style must win their match against City Friends to secure Premier League status.

New City Stars and Khayelitsha Stars, who are both safe from relegation, clash in the early match. Manchester Babes, who are also in danger of being relegated, play Really Rangers on Saturday.

Friday: 5.30pm – New City Stars v Khayelitsha Stars, 7.10pm – City Friends v City Style

Saturday: 9.30am – Manchester United v Black Aces, 11.15am – Stokes United v Jamaican Stars, 1pm – Golden Chiefs v Young Callies, 2.45pm – Young Pirates v Kabah United Brothers, 4.45pm – Really Rangers v Manchester Babes, 6.30pm – Mbabala Young Stars v Eleven Stars.
