Resounding win for PE Police

A RUTHLESS PE SAPS started the EP Grand Challenge with a resounding 59-6 victory over Kruisfontein in a one-sided encounter at the Humansdorp Country Club at the weekend.

The visitors drew first blood and announced their intentions early in the game. It did not take too long for the Port Elizabeth side to cross the tryline, and once they did, it was clear there was no stopping them.

While the home side went into the encounter having convincingly beaten Harlequins in their opening game, they could not cope against the strong Police outfit.

With the rain coming down just before kick-off, the Police side showed their pedigree and experience by quickly adapting to the weather, while the Humansdorp side had no answers to the PE team's onslaught.

The visitors comfortably led 25-3 after 40 minutes.

The second half was no different from the first as PE SAPS continued where they left off and doubled their efforts to claim the bonus point victory, while the hosts could only manage a further three points.

The Spring Rose game against Gap Despatch, which was supposed to be played at the New Brighton Oval, was postponed due to last week's heavy rains in Nelson Mandela Bay. - Mkhululi Ndamase
