Rivalry continues tomorrow for three top contenders

THE three contenders for the Safa- NMB League title will continue their battle for honours tomorrow with one eye on their rivals' performance.

Last week Callies had their lead cut to three points when they drew with Hotspurs. The previous week Subs, who are second on the log, suffered a setback when they lost 2-1 to Central Acemates.

Meanwhile Lion City have moved within striking distance with a 5-0 demolition of Showvillage United.

Log-leaders host Island City at the Westbourne Oval. Although the Uitenhage outfit are out of the top 10, they are not easy to beat and were unlucky not to share the points at least in their last three matches. Callies won 3-1 in the first round.

In the first round Subs thrashed Sunrise Development 3-0. Although their recent form has been disappointing, they should have another easy win against the tail-enders.

After being unbeaten in their last seven matches Hotspurs could dash Lion City's title hopes at the NU2 Stadium in Motherwell. Their only blemish since the beginning of the year was forfeiting their points for turning up late for their match against Royal Bucks last month.

Hotspurs are fourth on the log, three points ahead of Camper United, who host Despatch Pioneers at the NU9 Stadium.
