Warriors on good wicket

MICHAEL Price and Colin Ackermann set personal milestones as they made it a batting triumph for the Warriors on the first day of their Sunfoil Series cricket match against the Titans at Axxess St George’s yesterday.

When stumps were drawn shortly before 6pm, the Warriors, after winning the toss, had reached a handy 358/3 in 96 overs, with both Price and Ackermann hitting centuries. Ackermann, on 110, will resume this morning with Ashwell Prince (8).

Price, 32, made his highest first- class score of 181, beating his previous best by two runs before edging a sharp lifter from Rowan Richards to be well caught by wicketkeeper Mangaliso Mosehle down the legside. Four seasons ago, Price made 179 for the EP side against Easterns and yesterday’s effort also beat his previous best for the Warriors of 105, made against the Titans last season.
