RESILIENT EP Kings star Tiger Mangweni has been nominated for the coveted Currie Cup First Division Player of the Year award.
The back division stalwart played a huge part in the Kings’ impressive end-of-season rally that saw them reach the First Division final, which they lost against the Pumas.
Mangweni produced a high standard of play throughout the season and ensured that the Kings were a force to be reckoned with even when they were missing their Super Rugby stars at the start of the season.
He is one of three nominations for the title and is up against Alshaun Bock (SWD Eagles) and Rosco Speckman (Pumas). The winners will be named at a glittering function at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg on February 12.
