SEVERAL EP tennis juniors who excelled in the East London tournament last week get another chance to underline their potential in the EP leg of the KeyHealth Series, which ends on Thursday.

The event has drawn 386 juniors from around the country and there is again likely to be fierce competition for the spots in the final.

While six venues around Port Elizabeth – Collegiate, NMMU, Pearson, Westview, Clarendon and PE Club – are being used for the early rounds, PE Club will host the finals tomorrow and on Thursday.

Several EP players impressed in East London, with Rochelle Pienaar (under-12) walking away with her singles crown and a number of other players clinching doubles titles.

EP boys Heinrich Willemse (U14) and Jandre Lessing (U16) both reached the singles final, but ended runners-up.

However, they did not come home empty- handed, winning their respective doubles titles.

In the girls’ U14 doubles event, EP’s Kaylin Bouwer joined forces with Corin de Waal (Boland) to take the honours, while other EP players to feature in finals were Joel van Rensburg (U12 runner-up) and Joshua van Rensburg (U14 runner-up).
