THE annual Action Cycles Steak Race, organised by the Masters and Ladies Cycling Club, will take place from Grass Roof on the Seaview Road tomorrow from 6am.
The 90km race is known as one of Port Elizabeth’s toughest cycling events and covers a route including the Theescombe hills, the Cows Corner climb and the notorious climb towards the Van Stadens River mouth and back.
The event, which is open to all cyclists, will see top riders Marinus Prinsloo, Earl O’Riely, Nick Cape, Roger Pheiffer and Mike O’Halloren competing for honours.
The beneficiaries of the event are the Animal Welfare Society and Jeannie’s soup kitchen in Malabar Extension 6.
The entry fee for visitors is R60 and an additional R30 for non-CSA licence holders. Entries will be taken prior to the start of the race, with registration to take place at 5.15am.
