GAUTENG came out tops at the Nissan World Cup Qualifier at the Port Elizabeth Riding Club, bagging five of the six podium finishes in the Nissan Six Bar competition on Saturday and the World Cup Qualifier yesterday.

Despite the rain, the event – one of six World Cup qualifiers which South Africa hosts annually – went off without a hitch, according to event director and organiser Tanja Radke.

“Everything carried on as usual despite the rain. And many people even braved the rain to watch the event.

“Renowned French course designer Frederic Cottier did an exceptional job of designing a world-class course which proved to be [as] challenging as it was entertaining,” Radke said.
