Masiphathisane march to regional play-offs

MASIPHATHISANE High were crowned the champions of the Motherwell zonal T20 cricket competition after beating Mfesane by three wickets in the final last week.

Mfesane won the toss and decided to bat first.

They were dismissed for 82 runs after 20 overs.

Masiphathisane came in to bat fired up to achieve victory and duly succeeded by four wickets. They finished on 87/6, Siphamandla Nini paving the way for their win with a score of 46 not out.

Mfesane bowler Mandilakhe Brikwa tried hard to stem the tide, taking 3/27 in his four overs.

The zonal winners now move on to a further regional competition to be held early next year to determine who will represent Port Elizabeth in the provincial final.
