Miller’s power rocks Warriors

DOLPHINS batsman David Miller showed just how effective a limited overs player he is by smashing 96 unbeaten runs to hand the Chevrolet Warriors their first defeat in the Momentum One-day Cup at Axxess St George’s last night.

With his side chasing 244 for victory in a revised 45 overs, Miller played a measured innings until it came down to the crunch at the death when he unleashed his tremendous hitting power.

With the Dolphins needing 28 off the last two overs, Miller, together with Kyle Abbott, clubbed 24 runs off Andrew Birch to leave only four runs to get in Rusty Theron’s final over.

Man-of-the-match Miller hit Theron’s first delivery for four to win the game and finish four short of 100 off 85 balls, including eight fours and three sixes.
