Westview, The Woods on a roll

WESTVIEW men and The Woods women took the honours in the finals of the EP trips competition played in Port Alfred at the weekend.


The men's bowls title went to Curt Fischer, Glenn Corson and Merrick Gray, who beat Trevor Frost, Ron Orford and Noel Heale (Port Alfred) 14-13 in the final.


Kepler Wessels's Woods team took the bronze.


In the women's final, Bev Treadway, Marcelle Thompson and Sandy Richardson needed an extra end to beat the Port Alfred team of Sandra Wiblin, Colette Reid and Jennifer McLachlan 18-17.


Jen Cherry's Woods team took the bronze.




THE following players have been invited to participate in the EP men's Masters at Westview on September 28-29. All players must report by 8.30am: N Colyn, R Croly, N Erasmus, C Fischer, S Gobey, G Gowar, P Hufkie, W Kilian, A Langley, E Louw, J Meyer, H Slabbert.




A BSA markers' course will be conducted at Western Suburbs on October 7 and 8 (9am).

THE winners of the King Cars Thursday morning men's pairs competition on September 12 at Western Suburbs were Louis and Trevor Moore.

THE PE Moth Bowling Club invites all interested bowlers to join them. For men, there is sponsored pairs on Tuesdays (9am). Other playing times: Wednesdays and Saturdays (2pm) and Sundays (9am).


The popular Novice Colts and Fillies tournament will take place on November 9.

Sunday: 9am Richard Luyt Memorial game between PEBC and Park Drive. Green fees are R20 and braai packs are available at R30.


Tuesday: morning, Heritage Day; mixed social bowls in the morning.
