SA speed machine takes a breather on home territory


SOUTH Africa's sprinting ace, Anaso Jobodwana, always knew he was fast, but it took a hamstring injury early in his career to remove any doubt from his mind that the world of athletics was where his future lay.


The 20-year-old former Selborne College pupil, who grew up in Pakamisa township just outside King William's Town, is in Port Elizabeth this week, enjoying some time away from the spotlight in a period of rest and relaxation before returning to the United States this weekend.


"I am in PE for a week to visit my friends and [former] coach Johan van Greunen, and just to relax," Jobodwana said. "This is the last week of my break and I start training next week again."
