Mill Park win Inggs Cup

THE Inggs Cup, which has been played since 1923, saw another keenly contested final at the weekend, with Mill Park emerging as the winners.


Their team ended on 11 points +29, followed by Despatch on 11 +28 and Park Drive on 11 +12.




WALMER BC would like to congratulate Piet Minnie and Alan Paris, who won the M & H Freight-RFP Projects Monday pairs competition.


There is social bowls on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons (1.30pm) and Sunday morning (9.15am).


The Algoa Toyota men's pairs competition is on Wednesdays (1.30pm).


The 100 Club is on September 20.




THERE is Wednesday morning mixed bowls at Park Drive, tabs in 9am. Other playing sessions are: Tuesday 2pm, Saturday 2pm, Sunday 9.15am and public holidays 9am.


Forthcoming events at Park Drive are: Sept 24: Richard Luyt Memorial Trophy; Sept 27: 100 Club draw; Oct 11: Donkey Derby; Oct 13: Novice Mixed competition.




WESTVIEW have tabs-in bowls for men (casual wear) and women on Wednesday (9am). Other playing sessions are Saturday, tabs in 1.45 and Sundays (9am).

Today: finals of Nina Ponsonby's women's pairs followed by lunch.

Friday: Bob Mott's pairs in the morning.


Saturday and Sunday: club mixed pairs competition and social bowls.




THE VP team of Pat Cullen, Sarah Zdanow, Sharon Erasmus and reserve Sue Bennett, who are all novices, won through to the EP trips finals in Port Alfred this weekend.


Skip Pat Cullen said they did not expect to win against some of the top bowlers in the area, but they played to enjoy their bowls and would try their best to make VP proud of them this weekend.




THE final round of the Summerbreezz Superspar men's pairs will be played on Monday. There are plenty of performance and lucky draw prizes, and visitors are welcome.


There are still some vacancies for the Summerwood Warwick mixed fours tournament on Heritage Day (September 24). Teams must have at least one male or female member.
