Bay pair determined to improve Proteas' fortunes


ONE is fanatical about fishing, the other is a farmer at heart. Butfor the moment, Russell Domingo and Adrian Birrell have put their passions aside to focus on improving South Africa's standing in international cricket.


The Eastern Cape- born pair were back in familiar territory yesterday – at a Pure Proteas breakfast hosted by EP Cricket – and provided insights into their positions as the coaches heading the Proteas' management team.


Both have spent time as provincial coaches at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth. In their new positions, they are in the full glare of the international spotlight after being appointed as the Proteas coach and assistant coach following Gary Kirsten's resignation this year.
