THE Northern Areas High Schools rugby competition will reach the business end tomorrow when the under-19 sides clash in the semifinals at the Adcock Stadium.
In what should be an intriguing showdown, David Livingstone take on Bertram at 3.30pm in a repeat of their Night Series semifinal earlier this year, which ended in a 20-20 draw.
Bertram eventually advanced to the final on the flip of a coin. It will be no surprise, therefore, if David Livingstone are fired up to gain some revenge tomorrow after ending top of the Korsten section. But this could be another clash which goes down to the wire.
Booysen Park, who ended top of the Bethelsdorp section, will meet Paterson in the other semifinal. Booysen Park have shown much progress this year and recently had a win over Bertram. They might have a slight edge, although Paterson will also be eyeing a berth in the final.
In last week’s U15 and U17 semifinals, Booysen Park and David Livingstone qualified for the finals. The results were: U15: Booysen Park 20 Paterson 0, David Livingstone 28 Bertram 0; U17: Booysen Park 35 Paterson 5, David Livingstone 12 Bertram 5.
Tomorrow’s matches are: 2.30: Booysen Park v Paterson; 3.30: David Livingstone v Bertram
