Eye on promotion

WITH their Super Rugby dream over for the time being, the EP Kings are now focusing on their immediate goal of gaining promotion to the Currie Cup Premier Division at the end of the season.

It will require something special from the Kings to win the Currie Cup First Division because they trail the logleading Pumas by a massive 10 points after six games.

With so much ground to make up on the leaders, the Kings cannot afford any slips when they clash with the struggling Border Bulldogs at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday.

"All our focus now is on gaining promotion. This is vital for the Kings," EP president Cheeky Watson said. "We are already planning for that and another crack at Super Rugby promotion."

The Kings were in a dominant mood in their last game when they romped to a 44-18 win over the Falcons in Brakpan.
